Description
Amaranth and quinoa, are one of the few grains that are considered to be a “complete protein”, which means that they contains all 9 essential amino acids that our body needs to function properly. Most whole grains are missing one or more of these amino acids to make them complete, and need to be combined with other incomplete protein sources like another grain, beans, nuts or seeds, to make them complete. Protein sources that contain all the essential amino acids are mostly found in animal foods such as meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy. Furthermore, this power grain is a great source of fiber and extremely low in fat. Dry fruits and flaxseed give these cereal even more added fiber.
Serving Suggestions:
Because cereal is so small in size, it would be best to serve with small amounts of preferred milk. It can also be sprinkled over your favorite yogurt.
